Beginning Sewing, 4-12, 9:30
The first day of class students will need: Sewing Machine (any model as long as it is working), fabric scissors, thread, seam ripper and hem gauge (measuring tool). Students will also need to provide fabric and supplies (zipper, pillow form, etc.) for pillow and bag, details will come after first class.
Students will supply their own sewing machine, scissors, pins, thread, seam ripper, and hem gauge. Students may use fabric supplied by the instructor or purchase their own fabric.
This is a beginning sewing class for students that have never sewn on a sewing machine before, or have but still need assistance. The class size is small to ensure that each student gets individual attention, which is necessary when learning to use a sewing machine. Students will learn how to sew straight lines, curved lines, and turn corners using the sewing machine. They will also learn how to thread their own sewing machine. Students will make a tissue holder, carrying bag and patchwork pillow with zipper.
This is an Enrichment Class.
