Class Description
This two semester course will guide the students through the Apologia Exploring Creation with Physics curriculum. The Apologia Physics course is a challenging but approachable presentation of core physics concepts. The textbook explains the concepts with clear examples and guides the student through example problems in an understandable manner. The classroom time will include lecture (while students eat lunch) covering key concepts, discussion of homework, and small group lab time.
My focus in the class is to help the students grasp the basic concepts and challenge them to think about how physics can explain the workings of creation, while trying to have some fun.
Some important concepts covered in Apologia’s high school physics include, but aren’t limited to:
One and two-dimensional motion
Newton’s laws and their applications in nature
Work and energy
Electricity
Magnetism
Momentum,
Periodic motion
Waves
Optics
A class project will be completed in the spring.
