Developing the suite of documentation for your high school student’s college application can be a daunting undertaking, but with planning and diligence you can provide all the documentation for your student to apply to the most competitive schools and programs! You know your student better than any other teacher/counselor, and college application time is your opportunity to highlight his or her stellar qualities and unique story. We will do it together in this class. Distilling information collected from both Ivy and non-Ivy admissions staff, this class provides parent/counselors the foundation to potentially set your students apart. Requirements for each documentation element will be discussed. Examples will be provided to emulate. Any parent produced materials will be reviewed and evaluated during the semester for content and substance. The following topics are covered sequentially - Overview of Possible College Application Documentation (Common App to Portfolio to NCAA), School Profile, Counselor Recommendation, Transcript, Course Descriptions (by Year and Subject), Student Reading List, and NCAA Toolkit (time and interest permitting).
